About Kaitlyn’s Ode:

Last year, it was a total honor and delight to be the artist in residence for The Wayfaring Bands' Palisade Peach Festival trip. I’ve lived in Colorado for over a decade, and this was my first time on the western slope. We all enjoyed experiencing the abundance of the region, and immersing ourselves in the multi-sensory experience- and even staying on an animal farm/sanctuary!

These flash tattoos highlight the stars of the trip, the things we all talked about, thought about, and laughed about. Starting with our Emu friend at the farm, and participating in a peach-eating contest, we enjoyed every minute and shared every playful and unique experience. Some of us really went outside of our comfort zones while on this trip, especially with our Emu friend. Thank you to the band and the staff for promoting inclusion and play- the trip was a great example of summer fun and belonging. It was also a great example of finding a new adventure right in our own backyard.
